How to paint a heating battery: important nuances that need to be taken into account

If various defects and damages were noticed on the surface of the radiator or you just wanted to update the interior, a paintbrush and paint will help to correct the situation.

Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino shared the steps that need to be taken to paint a heating battery.

1. Clean the battery from dust and dirt using a brush or vacuum cleaner.

2. Remove old paint from the radiator using a scraper. Don't forget to wear safety glasses, a respirator and gloves.

3. If the battery is covered with rust or other deposits, use a wire brush to remove them.

4. Degrease the battery surface with solvent or alcohol.

5. Apply primer to the radiator to ensure good adhesion of the paint to the surface.

6. Choose a paint that is suitable for metal surfaces, such as alkyd, oil or acrylic.

7. Apply paint to the surface of the battery using a brush or roller.

8. Allow the paint to dry for the time indicated on the package.

9. If there are any stains or streaks left on the surface of the battery, clean them and repeat the painting process.

It is important to remember that painting should be done when there is no heating in the apartment.
