Apartment owners who want the living room in their home to look cozy while remaining ergonomic often choose a corner sofa for this purpose.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino shared advice on how to place it in a room so that everyone is comfortable.
First of all, it is worth mentioning those areas of space where there is no place for a sofa.
1. Never place such furniture with its back to the window - because of this, people sitting on the sofa will block the light, and the back may uncomfortably rest against the windowsill.
2. Do not place the sofa near a radiator. Due to constant contact with a source of high temperature, the furniture will quickly become unusable.
3. Another prohibition applies to placing the sofa close to other furniture. Of course, as with all rules, there are exceptions to this, but it is better to try to leave at least 60 cm of free space between the sofa and other interior items.
4. A bad option is a sofa placed along a long wall. If you have an elongated room, such a solution can turn it into a corridor.
5. Finally, give up the idea of placing a corner sofa near the door - there is a high risk that entering and exiting the room, as well as opening and closing the doors, will be inconvenient.
