How to Decorate the Joint Between a Countertop and a Kitchen Backsplash: Just Not a Plinth

The area where the countertop and kitchen backsplash meet requires special attention.

According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino , most often a baseboard is used here, which prevents water from getting in and, accordingly, protects the material from swelling.

It’s hard to argue with the logic of this decision, but there is one caveat: this option looks ugly.

Instead of using a baseboard, experts advise laying a thin strip of sealant here.

If for some reason this option is not for you, you should try to make sure that the tile or wall panel matches the countertop.

Due to its thickness, it will cover the joint.

This is the most aesthetic option of all existing ones, thanks to which you will be able to avoid the accumulation of unnecessary details.

To implement such a solution, you will first need to install the kitchen unit and countertop and only then proceed to installing the apron.
