No one will argue that the hallway is one of the dirtiest rooms in the apartment.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino , told what techniques should be used when decorating a “dirty zone” so that you don’t have to run around the entire apartment with a floor rag.
Firstly, it is worth using the right colours, i.e. colours that do not show marks. These include grey, beige, brown or khaki.
In this case, it is better to choose a material for the floor and walls that is not a single color, but one with a small pattern.
Secondly, the floor covering must be of high quality and have a high wear resistance rating.
This requirement is due to the fact that the floor in the hallway comes into contact with water, dirt and all kinds of “chemicals” almost every day.
Third, consider replacing wallpaper with paint, which is a cheaper, more practical and easier to update material.
Important: if you still decide to paint the walls, pay attention to the fact that they must be perfectly smooth.
And fourthly, try to free up space. This is necessary because the entrance area will get less dirty if there are fewer objects there.
