What to choose for painting walls: roller or airless method

If earlier those who decided to paint the walls in an apartment had no choice in how to do it - only a roller was available - now the situation has changed somewhat.

Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, spoke about such a method as airless painting and compared it with traditional painting with a roller.

Perhaps the main disadvantage of the roller is that it leaves a pronounced shagreen, meaning the walls will not be perfectly smooth.

But airless painting eliminates this “side effect” – after it you get a perfectly smooth surface.

But there are also disadvantages in the form of increased paint consumption - in this case it is approximately 20-30% more.

In addition, before airless painting you will have to prepare the walls more carefully, which is completely unnecessary for a roller.

But despite careful preparation for the process, painting walls with an airless spray gun usually takes less time.

One coat of paint is enough instead of two coats with a roller. Alternatively, the same two coats, but with a thinner nozzle.
