When it becomes necessary to divide a room into zones, the owners are faced with the question of how to do this in order not only to save space, but also to make the interior stylish.
There are many options for partitions. This article discusses those that are often used by both designers and amateurs.
Idea one: a wardrobe
This method is practical, but has two drawbacks. The first drawback: the cabinet does not let in sunlight, so it is not suitable for every layout. If the light from the windows reaches every area, then you can use the cabinet.
The second drawback: an unattractive back wall. To prevent it from spoiling the interior, it should be decorated somehow.
Important! Choose cabinets that match the walls and are located right up to the ceiling.
The impression of a single structure should be created, otherwise such zoning will resemble the Soviet version, when the wardrobe stood out against the background of the wallpaper, and was also too low.
Idea two: screen
Many people associate a screen with a doctor's office. But you can find different models of screens on sale, from strict fabric ones to openwork metal ones, which are more reminiscent of a work of art. The disadvantage of a screen is its instability. But this is also its advantage, since the structure can be removed or installed at any time.
Idea three: slats
Wooden slats are a simple, laconic and stylish interior element. They are easy to install, allow color to pass through, and do not take up much space. The only thing you should pay attention to is quality.
It is better not to save on wood, as there is a high risk of deformation. And any curvature or crack on the partition is clearly visible, which significantly spoils the appearance of the room.
Note! Instead of slats, you can use custom-made carved wooden doors. They look more impressive and not as trivial as slats, which are so fashionable that they can be found in almost every home where there is at least a little space for their use.
Idea number four: curtains
Fabric curtains are a quick, budget-friendly and functional option. You just need to install a curtain rod on the ceiling and hang the curtains. The big plus is that it can be hung or hung as needed, which is very convenient.
There are so-called Japanese curtains. Thanks to the weight on the floor, the fabric hangs down in a smooth rectangle.
This is an excellent solution for interiors in a minimalist style or in houses with an oriental flavor.
If you are sure that you need a partition for many years, then you can consider more serious options. For example, a wall or a glass partition. They require more costs, are more difficult to install, but they are durable.
