Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino listed some outdated design solutions and explained why they are no longer relevant.
Large prints
In the 2000s, aprons with images of vegetables and fruits, bathroom tiles with sea creatures and other photo prints were popular. This is how apartment owners updated their interiors and added bright accents to them. However, today this technique cannot be called relevant.
If you want to diversify the environment and add that special “zest” to it, pay attention to stickers. They have a number of advantages: they are economical, easy to remove and replace, and they are available in a variety of options.
Furniture sets
Furniture sets used to make life much easier for apartment owners, as they were relieved of the need to carefully select furniture to match each other. Nowadays, this approach is outdated and looks ridiculous.
One of the main trends in modern interior design is the ability to harmoniously combine elements of different styles. This is the reason why it is worth learning the basics of competently combining furniture of different models.
In addition, the design of rooms with different furniture is much more basic than with the same type, since the interior items will be outside the rapidly changing fashion.
Multi-level ceilings
Designers realized that such structures, undoubtedly, have an attractive appearance, but at the same time visually lower the height of the ceilings, making the room more cramped and limited.
Today, preference is given to straight lines and simple surfaces, which are more appropriate in apartments with low ceilings.
