On Monday, 16 December 2024, the Council of the European Union introduced new sanctions against Russia.

The famous Russian singer Larisa Dolina was also subject to the prohibitive measures.

This was reported by MIA "Russia Today" with reference to a publication in the official journal of the European Union.

According to the document, restrictions were imposed against Dolina for her frequent support of Moscow’s actions.

Actions that, as Brussels believes, “threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.”

The publication also notes that the Russian singer gave concerts in Donbass.

She is also accused of collaborating with the Russian Ministry of Defense, as well as making numerous speeches to soldiers.

The pop singer's director, Sergei Pudovkin, told the RBC publication that the singer does not comment on the topic of sanctions being imposed on her.

He added on his own behalf: Western sanctions against “every resident” of Russia have been in effect for almost three years.

They don’t have enough ink to write down everyone’s names, but in fact, everyone is already under these sanctions,” he said.

It should be noted that in addition to Dolina, the EU also imposed personal sanctions against Tina Kandelaki, the head of Mordovia Artem Zdunov, the general director of Rosnefteflot Alexey Nefedov and a number of other Russian citizens.
