Actor Nikolai Sednev Dies: He Was Knew by Millions

Nikolai Sednev, a famous Soviet and Ukrainian actor who starred in films and TV series, director, screenwriter and writer, left this world last Thursday, October 17.

The artist's death was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta , citing a publication by his colleagues made on social networks.

Details of the incident have not been disclosed.

On December 4, Nikolai Georgievich would have turned 73 years old – he was born back in 1951 in Odessa.

Sednev has a background in film acting at the Odessa Film Studio, as well as the film directing department at the Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv State Institute of Theatre Arts.

He started acting in the late nineties. His filmography includes Ukrainian, Russian and joint projects.

Viewers know and remember him for his roles in such films as "The Sniffer", "The Beach", "Odessa-Mama", "Berlin-Fried Hare", "Shoot Now!", "Friendly Family", etc.

A number of projects were staged by Sednev based on his own scripts as a director.

He is also the author of the novel In the Vicinity of Milena. This book is on the long list of the Russian literary prize Booker.
