Famous Russian singer Polina Gagarina filed a lawsuit with the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The court has already confirmed the fact of receiving the artist’s claim against the EU Council.
TASS reports this with reference to the press service of the European Court of Justice, located in Luxembourg.
It is noted that the lawsuit was filed at the beginning of last month.
It is emphasized that the document has been accepted for consideration by the EU Court.
The lawsuit contains a demand to lift the sanctions imposed against Polina Gagarina.
The singer, apparently, intends to achieve the annulment of the decision of one of the two legislative bodies of the European Union.
We are talking about the decision according to which prohibitive measures were introduced against the performer “in connection with encroachments on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
According to the materials of the European court, Gagarin's defense claims that the singer's rights to judicial protection have been violated, that her freedom of expression has been violated, and that the Council of the European Union made a mistake in the reasoning for the sanctions.
There is no information yet about when the hearings on the case will begin.
