The desire to stock up for the winter is, of course, commendable, but it also happens that in the end there are more jars of preserves than you can eat.

For this reason, we decided to make a selection of dishes that require “extra” pickles for their preparation.

Solyanka

By preparing this first course, you will be able to “utilize” not only stale canned cucumbers, but also sausages and smoked meats.

Cooking solyanka is not at all difficult: first, chop and fry the onion until golden brown, then add tomato paste or tomatoes and leave on the heat for another minute.

Boil water for the soup, throw in the sliced sausage, hot dogs and beef, as well as pickles and olives. Cook everything together until done, then add the fried onions and tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes. When serving, garnish the soup with herbs and a slice of lemon.

Azu with pickles

This Tatar national dish includes meat, pickles, potatoes and tomato paste. You can also add other vegetables to taste.

To prepare azu, you need to fry beef, onions and carrots in vegetable oil, add pickles and tomato paste, pour in water and simmer over low heat for about an hour. Then fry the potatoes until golden brown, combine all the ingredients and serve.

Salad with cucumbers

Since pickles go well with various vegetables, a salad prepared on the basis of these components will definitely have an interesting taste.

Carrots should be grated on a fine grater and fried in a frying pan for 5 minutes. Then put in a salad bowl, mix with chopped boiled eggs, onions, cucumbers and garlic, season with mayonnaise.

Earlier we shared a recipe for a dish that was on every table in the USSR.
