Nowadays, you can find a variety of fruits, including exotic ones, on the shelves of shops and markets. One of these fruits is pineapple.
It not only has a pleasant taste, but also contains many useful substances. However, not everyone knows what kind of pineapple to buy so that a ripe and, of course, sweet fruit appears on the table.
We invite you to familiarize yourself with several rules, thanks to which you will definitely not make a mistake when buying a pineapple.
To choose a ripe pineapple, you first need to evaluate its appearance.
The fruit is supposed to be oval in shape with a tapering top and a flat base.
Also pay attention to the stalk - it should be dry, which indicates that the pineapple ripened on the plant and not during transportation.
The peel should be whole, without cracks or damage. An unripe fruit is given away by green juicy tails on the skin, while a ripe pineapple has dry scales of a light brown color.
Finally, take a look at the top of the pineapple, which resembles a small palm tree and is located on top of the pineapple. By the way, it is called "sultan".
So, a ripe sultan fruit should be dark green with dry tips and hard leaves. If the sultan is light green and juicy, then the pineapple is underripe. If the sultan leaves are too dry and have a brown tint, then the fruit is overripe.
