If you are tired of the classic recipe for herring under a fur coat, it’s time to try something new – and, we assure you, no less delicious for that.
All you need to do is remove the potatoes from the salad and add the pomegranate. But let's take things one by one, and we'll start, of course, with a list of the necessary ingredients.
To prepare herring under a fur coat with pomegranate you will need:
- 250 g herring fillet,
- 50 g red onion,
- 100 g carrots,
- 100 g beetroot,
- 50 g pomegranate,
- 1 egg,
- 75 g mayonnaise,
- 2 g salt,
- 1 g sugar.
Remove the herring from the packaging in advance and place it on paper towels to absorb excess fat.
Boiled vegetables – beets and carrots – need to be cooled, peeled and grated on a coarse grater. Onions also require preliminary preparation; they need to be finely chopped and mixed with sugar.
Now you can start assembling: the salad will turn out especially beautiful if you lay it out in layers in a culinary ring.
So, the first layer is herring cut into small cubes and mixed with onion and 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise.
Next comes a hard-boiled egg, grated on a grater. Don't forget to salt this layer and grease it with mayonnaise.
After that, stick to the following sequence: carrots, mayonnaise, beets, mayonnaise, pomegranate seeds. Leave the salad in the refrigerator for an hour, and you can surprise your guests.
