With the right sauce, even the most ordinary dish opens up into a new taste. For example, ordinary homemade horseradish with beetroot changes the idea of a piece of cooked sausage.
What can we say about cheese sauce, especially one prepared at home? It is not as difficult as it seems, and even a bachelor can handle it.
You will need:
- butter - 40 g;
- garlic - 3 cloves;
- cheddar cheese - 200 gr;
- cream (10%) - 100 ml;
- flour - 1/2 tbsp;
- lemon juice - 1-2 drops;
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp;
- salt, pepper, spices and herbs to taste.
How to cook
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan, finely chop the garlic and add it to the butter.
2. Sift flour into the prepared mixture in small portions, mixing thoroughly until the lumps dissolve. Heat the mixture for one minute.
3. Add some of the cream, stirring constantly, and when the mixture becomes thick like sour cream, add the grated cheese.
4. Heat over low heat and stir until the cheese has melted. Then pour in the remaining cream.
5. Add spices and lemon juice to taste.
Remove from heat, pour into a gravy boat and serve.
