With this recipe, you will no longer have to buy dried fruits for home baking, especially if the main additional ingredient is candied fruit.
They are usually made from fruits or berries. But why not make candied pumpkin? It's not that difficult at home.
You will need:
- pumpkin - 2 kg;
- water - 1 l;
- sugar - 800 g;
- cinnamon - 1 tsp;
- ginger - 1 tsp.
How to cook
1. You need to peel the pumpkin, remove the fibers and seeds, and cut the pulp into cubes.
2. Place the mixture in a saucepan, add spices to your taste, then water and sugar according to the recipe.
3. Bring everything to a boil over medium heat, then cook for 30 minutes, then remove from heat and leave to cool.
4. Place the boiled pumpkin on a baking sheet lined with parchment, preheat the oven to 70-80 degrees Celsius and dry the candied fruit in convection mode for 6 hours.
You need to check the preparation approximately every two hours to ensure that the candied fruit does not dry out.
When ready, let it cool, put it in a glass jar and store it in a cool, dark and dry place.
