Some may "scold" Soviet cuisine for being unhealthy and high in calories, but many still like it more than the modern approach to cooking.
In Soviet times, simple dishes were prepared, since it was impossible to find any rare ingredients.
At the same time, chefs managed to find successful combinations that can surprise with their taste even today.
How to make "Northern" salad
List of ingredients
- a jar of cod liver;
- 3-4 boiled eggs;
- a bunch of any greens;
- black pepper;
- mayonnaise;
- optionally one fresh cucumber and crackers.
Method of preparation
This salad is very easy to prepare: if you don’t take into account the time spent on boiling the eggs, all the preparatory steps will take literally a few minutes.
We drain the canned food and take out the cod liver. It is very convenient to mash it with a regular fork. You can chop the eggs, or you can also use a fork.
Transfer the ingredients into a salad bowl.
Afterwards, chop a bunch of any greens and add them to the main dish. If desired, add chopped cucumber and a handful of croutons.
Salt is not needed in this recipe, but it is better not to cook the dish without pepper.
Mix the ingredients and add mayonnaise. The simple and delicious salad is ready for tasting.
