They say that Russian tsars adored liver prepared according to this recipe. It is quite possible that most modern housewives cook it this way, they just don’t know how old the recipe is.
Liver Stroganoff style retains its beneficial properties and turns out very tasty.
You will need:
- liver (pork or beef) - 750 g;
- onion - 1 pc.;
- butter - 30 g;
- vegetable oil – 30 g;
- salt and ground black pepper to taste;
- sour cream - 250 g;
- water - 50 g;
- flour - 2 tbsp.
How to cook
1. Peel the onion, cut into small cubes, fry in vegetable oil until transparent.
2. Cut the liver into portions.
3. Heat butter and vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the liver until half-cooked, 10 minutes.
4. Mix sour cream and water in a saucepan, add flour, stir and bring the sauce to a boil.
5. Add fried onions and sauce to the pan with the liver, cover with a lid and simmer until done.
6. Five minutes before it is ready, add salt and pepper to taste.
It is best served with buckwheat porridge or another side dish to taste.
