Borscht is a tasty and beautiful dish that owes its color to juicy and healthy beets.
Many housewives use this vegetable for boiling and frying together with other ingredients.
However, there is another, less popular method – baking. Thanks to this method, borscht acquires a richer taste and color.
It turns out that if you replace boiled beets with baked ones, their taste becomes more pronounced.
The vegetable retains all the necessary nutrients and does not overcook.
Two ways of baking
- With sugar and salt. Wash the vegetable, put it on foil and pour a tablespoon of vegetable oil on the surface. Then sprinkle a spoon of sugar and half a spoon of salt on the vegetable. Pour vinegar and add one spoon of acid. Bake for 60-90 minutes at 190 degrees.
- In a sleeve. Wrap in a sleeve and tie a thread. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and put the vegetable in for 1 hour. This makes the beetroot very juicy.
This way the beets retain their juice and nutrients.
