Very soon, summer residents will begin to taste the first strawberry harvest grown on their plots.
At first, gardeners eat fresh berries, and then they use the harvest for preparations.
There is no particular imagination in either case: the berries are ground with sugar, frozen, made into jam, or compotes.
But there are more complex and interesting recipes based on fresh strawberries.
Strawberry sauce
To prepare you will need:
- 400 g fresh berries;
- 100 g sugar;
- 100 ml of water;
- 1 tbsp cornstarch;
- 30 g butter.
How to cook
The strawberries need to be turned into puree. It is more convenient to use a blender, but you can get by with a classic pestle. Then mix the berry mass with sugar.
Bring the mixture to a boil, stir, but do not remove from heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Next, add butter, and the cornstarch must first be dissolved in water.
After the butter has dissolved and the puree begins to boil again, you need to add the starch water.
It is poured in a thin stream, stirring, and the sauce is brought to a boil again, leaving it to boil for 2 minutes.
After this, all that remains is to cool the sauce and serve it with pancakes or cheesecakes.
Bon appetit!
