Cabbage rolls are loved by many, but not everyone can always eat meat dishes.
People who observe fasting, or those who for some reason cannot eat meat, have to resort to culinary tricks.
For example, make stuffing for cabbage rolls from other products.
Filling options for Lenten cabbage rolls
1. Fry one medium onion and a small carrot in sunflower oil, add any mushrooms (250–300 g).
Salt and pepper. Add 300 g finely chopped cabbage, 2 tablespoons tomato paste. Simmer until done. Add 300 g rice (pre-boil).
2. Grate 5-7 medium potatoes on a large grater, add onions and carrots fried in a frying pan. Add salt and spices. Mix. Thanks to the starch, the mass will hold its shape well and will easily wrap into sheets. But if the filling is too liquid, you can add a little flour.
3. Boil 150 g of buckwheat in advance. Fry 300 g of fresh mushrooms in a frying pan. Fry the onion and carrot separately. Combine all the ingredients, add 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, salt, and your favorite spices. Let the filling cool.
Lenten cabbage rolls are prepared in the same way as regular ones. They can be stewed in sour cream and tomato sauce, or baked in the oven.
