Rice as a side dish can be prepared in at least five ways, and each allows us to talk about the ideal dish.
This is the grain that causes the most problems. The rice either sticks together or burns. But with these tips, troubles are practically excluded.
In any case, the cereal must first be rinsed in cold water, and then a cooking method can be chosen.
In a saucepan
The main thing here is to keep the proportions. Usually, one part of rice is taken for two parts of water. White rice is cooked for about 15-20 minutes, and brown rice will be ready in 40-45 minutes.
In a frying pan
This is how pilaf is often prepared. In this case, all the steps are repeated as when cooking cereals in a saucepan. But before you start cooking, you need to fry the grain in vegetable oil.
In the oven
First, preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Then pour boiling water over the rice, add 1 tablespoon of butter to the water (based on 3/4 cup of cereal) and bake in a container under a lid. Long grain will be ready in 35 minutes, and brown rice is cooked for about an hour.
Multicooker
This is the easiest way to cook food in general. If you calculate the proportions of water and grain correctly, then troubles are unlikely. The cereal is poured with water, a suitable mode is selected (each model may have its own) and cooked for 30 to 50 minutes. You can also cook rice in a steamer.
Microwave
Take the washed rice, place it in a glass dish, pour in water and cook at maximum power for 15-20 minutes. Brown rice is cooked for 5 minutes at maximum power, and the remaining 20-25 minutes at medium power.
Before serving, the rice should sit in the microwave for 10 minutes.
