There is a legend that when the question arose whether it was possible to eat chocolate during Lent, one of his close associates suggested that the Pope try this dessert.
When Pope Pius V, who had never tasted chocolate before that day, tasted it, he exclaimed: "How can you eat such disgusting things?"
This story happened five centuries ago or more, and then it was decided not only to allow the dessert to be consumed during Lent, but even to recommend it. Because the chocolate that seemed "disgusting" to the Pope had nothing to do with joys and pleasures.
Since then, public opinion has moved further and there are more dishes. We will tell you what desserts can be prepared during Lent, without looking back at the opinion of the head of the Vatican.
To prepare you will need:
- 250 g nuts (hazelnuts);
- 2 tbsp. honey;
- 6 tbsp cocoa powder;
- 125 g almond (coconut) milk;
- vanilla to taste.
How to cook
The nuts are soaked for 12 hours. Preferably overnight. Then the water is drained, the kernels are washed and ground in a blender until the consistency of cream.
Then add honey, cocoa, mix in a blender and pour in milk in a thin stream so as not to overflow.
The finished mixture is put into the refrigerator, and when ready, it is used instead of butter for morning toast.
Bon appetit!
