The very thought that a potato product will be fried in an abundance of vegetable oil or fat can plunge people who count every calorie into awe.
But when you can't, but really want to, you won't have to deny yourself the pleasure anymore. Save the recipe for potato pancakes for dinner.
To prepare you will need:
- 5-6 pieces of raw potatoes;
- 1 onion;
- 1 raw egg;
- salt, pepper - to taste;
- vegetable oil.
How to cook
Peeled potatoes should be placed in cold water for 15-20 minutes, then dried and grated.
Squeeze out the excess juice, peel the onion and grate it on a fine grater.
Then mix both ingredients, add egg, salt, spices, herbs – all according to taste and desire.
Knead the mixture and preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Take a baking sheet, cover it with parchment, grease it with a thin layer of vegetable oil and spoon out the vegetable mixture.
Bake the pancakes in the oven for about 30 minutes. If the pancakes are thick and dense, then after 15 minutes you need to open the oven and turn them over to the other side.
Potato pancakes are served with sour cream or sauce.
