Potatoes are a healthy, tasty and filling side dish. They can be served with meat and poultry, mushrooms and fish.

The dish is prepared simply and quickly. However, it is not always possible to cook the potatoes correctly: they crumble and burst, boil over and become watery.

Simple tricks with soda and vinegar will help to preserve the delicious shape of tubers and their taste. Here's how it works.

Lemon

When boiling potatoes, it is enough to put one slice of citrus in boiling water. If you boil a lot of tubers, you can put 2-3 slices - you will not go wrong. Stick to the proportions: 1 slice of lemon per 1.5 liters of water.

Lemon can be replaced with natural lemon juice at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 3 liters. Lemon will not spoil the taste of potatoes, tubers will never crack or fall apart when boiled.

Vinegar

The ingredient is added to water when boiling potatoes in their skins. For 2 liters of water, take 1 teaspoon of 9% table vinegar. The potatoes are thrown into the water after boiling. This is the only way to boil firm and whole potatoes.
