If the aroma of New Year is a Christmas tree and tangerines, then the celebration of Christmas is also the aroma of gingerbread.
We'll tell you how to bake real gingerbread cookies at home, just like the store-bought ones, but only tastier.
To prepare you will need:
- butter - 50 g;
- sugar - 50 g;
- honey - 50 g;
- 1 egg;
- cinnamon - 0.5 tsp;
- ground ginger - 1 tsp;
- baking powder - 1 tsp;
- flour - 200-230 g;
- the white of one egg;
- powdered sugar - 150 gr.
How to cook
Rub the butter with granulated sugar and, adding honey and egg, mix everything thoroughly until smooth.
Next, add ginger and cinnamon to the mixture, stir, and sift the flour mixed with baking powder.
Knead the dough with a spoon until it becomes soft and pliable.
Then the work surface is dusted with flour and the dough is rolled out. If you want the pastry to be crispy, you need to roll it out to a thickness of 0.5 cm, if you like airy and soft cookies, you can roll it out thicker.
The blanks are made using shaped molds or a regular glass. The remaining dough is rolled out again and new blanks are made.
Repeat this until the dough runs out.
Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 8-10 minutes until done.
Decoration
You need to beat the egg white until it becomes foamy, then add the powdered sugar and beat for another 5 minutes. When the glaze becomes thick, decorate the finished cookies with it and let it harden.
Bon appetit!
