You shouldn’t think that a newborn baby is indifferent to the “acoustic environment” around him.
For example, loud and sharp sounds will probably make a baby cry. It is logical to assume that smooth and rhythmic melodies will have a calming effect on him.
What music to play for newborns
It is desirable for the child to enjoy music while still in the mother’s womb – then these sounds will be familiar to him and will certainly seem calming to him in the first days of life.
This could be white and pink noise – the sound of a TV, the signal of which has a hypnotic effect on children and can be very useful for parents who are putting their child to bed.
Another option is the sounds of nature, fortunately there is plenty to choose from - it could be early morning in the forest, the sound of a waterfall, the voices of birds or the sounds of a tropical summer.
You can combine them with background music, such as a violin, harp or guitar. These musical instruments have the ability to calm and relax.
Or perhaps your son or daughter would like to listen to classical music (there are now special adaptations for children), relaxation music in a modern arrangement, or good songs in a retro style.
Earlier we wrote about why a schoolchild constantly feels tired.
