Many people traditionally consider red wine to be less dangerous in terms of cancer risk.
They argue that this drink contains antioxidants.
Not long ago, American scientists found out whether there really is a difference between white and red in terms of the development of cancer.

The researchers analyzed over 40 scientific papers published before December 2023.
In them, they studied over 95,000 cases of cancer among more than 2.8 million patients.
Scientists have not found any significant link between wine consumption and the risk of developing cancer.
In this regard, red and white are almost indistinguishable: the relative risk for the first is 0.98, for the second – one.
The analysis was then limited to cohort studies (selecting groups of people based on some common characteristic).
And here it was discovered that white wine has a slightly higher risk of developing cancer (1.12), while no such connection was found for red wine.
It also turned out that drinking white wine increased the risk of cancer in women.
They also noticed that when consuming white wine, the risk of developing skin cancer most often increases – 1.22 versus 1.02 for red wine.
Based on the results of this study, scientists have refuted the idea that red wine is more “healthy”.
However, it was stated that the trends found in relation to white wine needed to be studied more closely.
