Scientists have recently discovered that drinking a large glass of milk every day can significantly reduce the risk of developing colorectal cancer.

According to their calculations, the probability of developing this type of cancer if the above condition is met is reduced by 17%.

But it is not only milk that contributes to this factor. Other calcium-containing products also reduce the risk.

As reported by foreign publications, citing a study by scientists, an additional 300 grams of calcium daily reduces the risk of developing this type of cancer by 17%.

It doesn’t matter which specific foods contain these extra grams of calcium.

The scientists said their work showed that "dairy products may help prevent colon cancer, mainly due to the calcium they contain."

They found that this effect was achieved not only by calcium from dairy products, but also from other foods.

Colorectal cancer is estimated by experts to be the third leading cause of death worldwide.

Every year, there are about 2 million cases of the disease and about 1 million deaths from this illness.

Most often, this type of oncological disease is observed in young people.

Doctors say that the risk of disease can be reduced if:

– monitor your weight;
– eat foods high in fiber;
– limit the consumption of alcoholic beverages;
– do physical exercise;
- quit smoking.

In this regard, diet plays a special role, since every 5th case of the disease is caused by excessive consumption of red or processed meat.
