Scientists have come to the conclusion that in some cases, coffee, beloved by many, can prolong life.
Moreover, if consumed at a certain time of day, the risk of developing life-threatening cardiovascular diseases is significantly reduced.
American researchers were just studying the effect of coffee on mortality.
They found that the hot, invigorating drink was indeed associated with a reduced risk of death from heart disease.
However, they clarified, this tendency does not always manifest itself.
And the results of their research cannot confirm a cause-and-effect relationship.
The experiment involved 42,000 US adults.
They were divided into two groups: those who drink coffee in the morning and those who drink it during the day.
The results were as follows: the first group showed a lower probability of death from all causes, including cardiovascular diseases.
But those who drank coffee or consumed it during the day had a higher likelihood of this.
Because the study was observational, the researchers say they can't be 100% sure that morning coffee reduces mortality.
By the way. Scientists also found that people who drink coffee in the morning are more likely to consume tea and caffeinated sodas compared to those who drink coffee during the day.
