What you can get infected with on the beach: you didn’t even suspect

The beach is a real salvation if the summer turns out to be especially hot.

But sometimes vacationers are faced not only with cool water, soft sand and an even tan, but also with a host of infections that are present both in the water and on the shore.

What infections are there on the beach

When choosing a place to swim, stay away from ducks to avoid catching the so-called "swimmer's itch" (cercariosis) - ducks are carriers of it.

The good news is that these parasites are not transmitted to humans. The bad news is that they do not disappear without a trace, leaving a small red itchy rash on the skin.

In addition, animals transmit lentaspirosis to humans, that is, a bacterial infection that causes jaundice. In case of infection, you should immediately consult a doctor, otherwise the disease can seriously harm your health.

The title of the most popular infection belongs to rotavirus, which is characterized by high fever, diarrhea and vomiting. It is curious that the disease does not make itself known immediately: the incubation period for an adult can last from 15 hours to a week.

Finally, we would like to remind you that it is forbidden to swallow water while swimming – otherwise you risk contracting giardiasis.

The disease can be “recognized” by its characteristic symptoms, such as abdominal pain, loose stools, and nausea.
