An adult human being consists of approximately 70% water, two-thirds of which is contained within the cells and another third is in the intercellular space.
In summer, when it is hot outside, we drink a lot and sweat intensely. Along with sweat, mineral salts responsible for removing excess blood and intercellular fluid from tissues leave our body.
As a result, blood plasma accumulates between the cells and edema appears.
Prevention of edema in the summer heat
To avoid having to deal with swelling in the summer, take note of the following rules.
1. Get enough sleep – in order for the body to have time to recover, it needs to spend 7-8 hours sleeping.
2. If you have a sedentary job, don’t forget to stretch your muscles to restore blood circulation.
3. Drink enough water, but it is better to avoid excessive amounts of coffee and carbonated drinks.
4. Eat a healthy and balanced diet, excluding salty, smoked and fried foods from your diet.
It is necessary to have vegetables and greens, diuretic products and food rich in vitamin A on the table.
5. Give up alcohol – it slows down the removal of excess fluid from the body.
6. Get used to taking contrast showers or at least cold dousing of your feet.
