How to Drink Turmeric to Improve Health: A Recipe for a Drink Most Often Used in Ayurveda

Turmeric is popular not only as a spice in the kitchens of ordinary housewives, but also as an “ingredient” of traditional Indian medicine.

It is believed that the seasoning can fight viruses and resist cancer, treat diseases of the skin, upper respiratory tract, joints and digestive system.

Modern science disagrees with the supporters of Ayurveda: scientists have come to the conclusion that curcumin, although it is a strong antioxidant, firstly, is contained in the seasoning in very small quantities, and secondly, is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream.

And in general, there is simply no data that would allow us to confidently draw conclusions about the effectiveness of this product.

But if this fact is not enough to overcome the passion you have for Indian cuisine, below you will find a recipe for “golden milk” – this is the drink most often used in Ayurveda.

First, make a spice paste: combine a teaspoon of turmeric and a pinch of black pepper in a bowl.

If desired, add other ingredients, such as ground cardamom or ginger – they will make the drink even warmer and more spicy in taste.

Mix the spices and place the mixture on the fire – the paste should become thick.

Then heat the milk and add the paste to it, as well as a teaspoon of honey, and then mix well.

Vegetarians can choose any plant-based milk: oat, almond, hazelnut, or other.
