Dehydrated skin loses its inherent protective functions. In this state, the skin cannot be called smooth and elastic - it becomes pockmarked and unpleasant to the touch.
Why does skin become dehydrated?
The condition of the skin is influenced by a variety of factors, of which we have identified two main ones.
Firstly, dehydrated skin can be caused by genetic factors or a malfunction in the body, which, for example, could be caused by stress or poor nutrition.
Secondly, the skin can dry out due to external factors – temperature changes, wind, etc.
How to Know if Your Skin is Dehydrated
If you see fine lines, unevenness, and flaking on your face, as well as dark circles under your eyes, this could be a sign of dehydrated skin.
The same “signal” is the feeling of tightness of the skin, its dullness and loss of elasticity.
To check the condition of your skin, do a simple test.
Lightly pinch your cheek and hold for a few seconds. If after such a “manipulation” the skin quickly returns to its original state, then everything is fine.
If this takes about a minute, then you need to start moisturizing the skin.
