People who want to look young, stay in good shape and maintain a healthy body for many years are well acquainted with the concept of so-called "sleep hygiene".
This peculiar term “hides” a list of rules that can make your night’s rest as high-quality and comfortable as possible.
What are the basic principles of "sleep hygiene"?
Permanent regime
You can't sleep 4-5 hours during the week and then catch up on sleep on the weekends - it doesn't work that way. You need to learn to go to bed and get up at exactly the same time every day.
Only in this case will sleep become truly high-quality, experts believe.
Bedroom
It is important to choose a quality mattress, a bed that is appropriate for your height, and natural bed linen. Curtains should be thick and dark so that the light from the street does not disturb the harmony of rest.
It is advisable to arrange excellent soundproofing in the bedroom so that nothing disturbs your sleep.
"Digital hygiene"
It is impossible to imagine quality rest without "digital hygiene". This means that there should be no TV, computer, smartphone or any other equipment in the bedroom.
We stop using them at least 60 minutes before going to bed.
Food and Drinks
Dinner should be around 18-19 hours. An abundance of food will not allow the body to rest comfortably due to the active activity of the gastrointestinal tract. Do not drink alcohol to "relax" - the quality of sleep will decrease significantly.
Also, you shouldn't drink water or tea late at night. Otherwise, the "urge" of the bladder will prevent you from getting a good night's sleep.
