Nutritionist Rimma Moisenko spoke in more detail about what and why you shouldn’t reheat in a microwave oven during an interview with Sputnik radio.
As the specialist explained, with such a procedure, products containing fat, including dairy, can become harmful.
The radiation from the device can change the chemical properties of fats. As a result, useful elements become trans fats. The doctor added that not only regular milk, but also baby milk should not be heated in the microwave.
It is even more dangerous to heat up fast food in this way, which already contains trans fats. Due to radiation, they can turn into a toxic form.
Moisenko noted that in cases where it is necessary to reheat food, it is better to use a regular stove.
The first heating is safe. If you heat food a second time, all the valuable components will disappear.
