Also, the absence of teeth complicates the process of eating, which means that not all useful elements can be received and absorbed.

When it comes to diabetes, it's important to consider that high blood sugar, insulin resistance, inflammation, and heart disease also trigger changes.

These conclusions were made after conducting the study.

As noted by American experts, patients aged 65 to 84 years with diabetes and complete loss of teeth had worse cognitive abilities, compared to those elderly men and women who did not have such problems.

The corresponding findings were published in the Journal of Dental Research.
