The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of Belarus calls on motorists to adopt a calmer and more careful driving style.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this on Telegram.
Recommendations of the State Traffic Inspectorate
The State Traffic Inspectorate noted that the current weather conditions in the country require all road users to be extremely careful.
Drivers should change their driving style to a calmer and more careful one: take into account the weather and road conditions, choose a safe speed and avoid sudden maneuvers, especially near pedestrian crossings, on curves, overpasses, bridges and other windy sections of roads.
When approaching a pedestrian crossing, you must reduce your speed in advance and be prepared to come to a complete stop.
Pedestrians should walk on the sidewalk, pedestrian/bicycle path or shoulder, or, if there is none, on the edge of the road facing the traffic flow.
In the dark, it is necessary to use reflective elements.
You should cross the road only after making sure that all cars have stopped. You should wait for the crossing one meter from the road.
