On Wednesday evening and Thursday night, precipitation in the form of wet snow turning into rain is expected in most regions of Belarus.
Depending on the region, the air temperature will range from 8 degrees below zero to 5 degrees above zero.
The combination of these factors can complicate the traffic situation.
In this regard, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminded the rules of safe driving in bad weather, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Telegram channel reports.
Recommendations of the State Traffic Inspectorate
In bad weather, drivers must take into account that wet road surfaces can suddenly turn into black ice.
Choose a safe speed, take into account the traffic flow, keep your distance and lateral interval.
In the dark and when visibility is poor, be prepared for pedestrians to appear on the side of the road.
You need to be especially careful on crossings, bridges, and windy sections of roads.
Braking, accelerating and steering should be done smoothly.
If your car starts to skid, follow these rules.
Smoothly turn the steering wheel in the direction of the skid. On a rear-wheel drive car, release the gas; on a front-wheel drive car, on the contrary, slightly increase the fuel supply.
When the car comes out of the skid, you need to return the steering wheel to the position for moving straight. Do not press the brake under any circumstances.
