The administrative procedure for issuing permits for allowing a vehicle to participate in road traffic is planned to be digitalized.
The director of the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Beltekhosmotr” Yuri Lenchevsky spoke about this and other planned innovations.
What changes are expected in the technical inspection procedure?
As Lenchevsky told BELTA in an interview, Beltekhosmotr is currently focused on developing a network of stationary diagnostic stations, improving legislation in the field of state technical inspection and digitalizing the administrative procedure for issuing permits.
Thus, a diagnostic station will soon be opened in Gomel, which will allow checking more than 15,000 vehicles per year.
An alternative to obtaining a paper permit in the near future will be the introduction of an electronic procedure, which has some advantages over the current one.
Firstly, legally significant actions will be carried out without the physical presence of the applicant at the station. Secondly, interaction with the applicant will be organized through a personal account.
As for improvements in legislation, vehicle owners can feel them already now.
For example, the validity period of the permit for vehicles manufactured less than 3 years ago has been increased to 3 years.
Similar concessions apply to passenger cars used for commercial passenger transportation, which were manufactured less than 5 years ago, buses and other vehicles for the transportation of passengers with more than 8 seats (except for the driver's seat), which were manufactured less than 2 years ago.
