Many housewives are accustomed to measuring out washing powder “by eye”.
However, with this approach, the washing result is not always satisfactory: due to an excess of detergent, white stains remain on the clothes, and in case of a shortage, the stains do not go away.
This is why the correct dosage of washing powder is so important.
Its quantity depends on various factors: the type of washing machine, the weight of the laundry and the degree of its contamination, the type of water, etc.
If we talk about standard household appliances with a load of up to 6 kg, then the recommended amount of powder is 100-120 g per wash cycle.
This amount is enough for normally soiled clothes.
If you need to remove heavy stains, then the amount of powder should be increased to 130-150 g.
Add another 10-20 g of powder if washing will take place in hard water.
The last question remains: how to measure out the right amount of detergent?
The easiest way is to use a measuring cup or, in extreme cases, scales.
But if the cup is lost and the scales don’t work, try using a regular tablespoon.
One such spoon holds approximately 20 g of washing powder. Accordingly, if you need to measure out 100 g, pour in 5 tablespoons, 150 g – 7 and a half tablespoons.
