More and more often, many people are starting to take a closer look at watermelons – their time is coming.
But when choosing a berry, you can make a fatal mistake for your health, in particular, by tasting this early gift of nature, you can get poisoned.
Unfortunately, such cases are not uncommon. Especially if watermelons are bought in tents and markets from vendors of non-Slavic appearance.
As a rule, poisoning occurs due to the large number of chemicals that watermelons are treated with to speed up ripening.
By the way, sometimes even sellers may not know about this - they only sell the supplier's goods. But he certainly knows.
In order not to put your health at risk, you should check the melon crop.
At home we do the following: Pour ordinary water into a glass or jar.
We put a small piece of watermelon cut off in advance. We wait for about half an hour - enough for all the chemicals to make themselves known.
If after the specified time the water turns slightly pink, it means the watermelon is of good quality.
But if the water turns brown or dark red, do not eat this watermelon. And in general, do not buy from any shops from untrustworthy citizens-sellers.
