Never do this: why you shouldn't wash at 40 degrees

Many people probably find the process of washing at low temperatures very convenient.

However, alas, this is not always a good idea. Because there is a risk of damaging the "washing machine".

In addition, the 40 degree mode often turns out to be absolutely useless – not all laundry is washed.

This mode is only suitable for fabrics that have light dirt.

And if these are significant, the temperature must be much higher than 40 degrees, otherwise the clothes will not be washed.

By the way, at 40 degrees, washing in many machines takes about 90 minutes.

Yes, if it’s 50-60 degrees, it will take about 10 minutes longer, but it will wash heavily soiled items much better.

You should also pay attention to the labels of the items you plan to wash - for many, the maximum temperature is 30 degrees.

If you wash them at higher temperatures, you can ruin the fabric.

Experts do not recommend washing heavily soiled items at 40 degrees because serious stains will not come out and the color and structure of the material may be damaged.

In particular, you should not wash bed linen, terry towels and children's clothes at this temperature.

Terry fabrics can only be washed at temperatures up to 30 degrees, otherwise both towels and sheets will lose their appearance.

Linen and cotton can be washed well at temperatures from 60 to 90 degrees.

Children's clothes should never be washed at low temperatures, if only because the goal is to ensure complete disinfection.
