Summer, fruits and berries are tempting, and many people especially want strawberries. But when buying, you can buy a low-quality product.

How to avoid this? There are a couple of things that you should definitely consider if you want to bring home a ripe, fragrant and sweet berry.

If, when buying strawberries, you smell their pleasant aroma, this means that you are seeing a ground berry that grew in the sun.

But it’s best to buy it in the morning – there’s a better chance that you’ll get it fresh.

The strawberries that have been lying in the trays until the evening will release juice, the leaves will wither, so they will have to be eaten immediately.

Pay attention to the appearance: fresh and ripe strawberries are of the same color (red or dark burgundy), without mold, rot or dents.

And if the tip of the berry is barely red or completely green, this means that the berry is not yet ripe and will most likely be sour.

As for the size and shape of strawberries, they depend on the variety and are not an indicator of how juicy and sweet the berry is.

Before buying, it is advisable to try the offered strawberries - this will be your personal taste determinant of the berry.

Earlier we told you that the cherry tray indicates that it is better not to buy it.
