A cutting board is a very convenient kitchen tool to use.
The item gives the cook the opportunity to cut food without damaging the countertop.
But there is a problem: the condition of the board itself is deteriorating. And it is not just about numerous scratches. The device also “absorbs” the smell of food.
The board may continue to smell bad even after thorough cleaning with dishwashing detergent.
The smells of fish and spicy vegetables are particularly persistent.
How to eliminate the stench? Fortunately, there is a saving remedy. You can probably find a package of it in your kitchen.
The most common baking soda will help restore the neutral smell of your cutting board.
It is enough to sprinkle the kitchen appliance with sodium bicarbonate and leave it like that for 5 minutes.
Then the board should be thoroughly wiped with a clean cloth or kitchen sponge. Any of these items should be soaked in fairly hot water.
Next, the "treated" device should be doused with clean liquid. That's all. By that time, the unpleasant smell will probably be gone.
