How to Make Your Own Washing Powder: More Effective Than Some Brands and Certainly Cheaper
If you are tired of paying a tidy sum from your wallet to buy a detergent, and after the process is finished finding the same stains on your clothes, a homemade washing powder will help fix the situation.
It consists of:
- 150 g soap shavings;
- 200 g of soda ash;
- 200 g borax;
- essential oil for scent.
There is nothing complicated in the cooking process itself: you need to combine the listed ingredients and mix them thoroughly.
Store homemade powder in a container with a tightly closing lid in places inaccessible to children and pets.
Please note: soda ash is considered a hazardous substance, so you will need protective equipment when working with it.
The prepared powder is suitable not only for machine washing, but also for hand washing.
The detergent must be dosed in a 1 to 1 ratio: one tablespoon of powder per kilogram of laundry.
Important: Do not use the resulting product to wash clothes with a special water-repellent coating.
