Coats require special care, and if brave housewives risk washing down jackets in the washing machine, then coats are more often taken to the dry cleaners.

But light-colored material has to be cleaned more often, and taking it to the dry cleaner becomes expensive. In this case, the question arises: is it possible to wash a coat at home?

Let's try to find out whether it is possible to wash a coat at home and how to do it so that you don't have to regret it later.

Automatic washing

First, let's study the label.

The surest way is to look at the label. If the manufacturer allows machine washing, then the housewife should have no doubts.

Secondly, you need to fasten the buttons and zippers, if there are any, and turn the coat inside out.

Thirdly, select the "delicate" or "wool" washing mode with a water temperature of no more than 30 degrees Celsius. The spin is turned off.

Fourthly, wash the coat with liquid detergents intended for delicate items.

Fifthly, do not wring out the coat, but wait until the water drains.

1. You need to fill the bathtub with warm water, dissolving a small amount of liquid laundry detergent in it (2 times less than for machine washing).

2. Soak the coat for 15 minutes, do not wash the fabric with your hands, but wipe off the dirt with a sponge, moving along the fibers.

3. Drain the dirty water, rinse the coat, wring out the water, pressing on the material, but not twisting.

Drying

It is best to dry your coat outdoors, horizontally, laying it out on a towel.

Once the coat has dried thoroughly and the moisture has gone, it can be hung on a hanger and left to dry.
