An additional compartment can often be found under the oven.
It is a pull-out drawer or space behind a removable lid.
Many housewives do not even ask themselves about the purpose of this element.
Most people are sure that this is where you need to store dishes that don’t fit in the cabinets.
But this is not quite the right approach. In fact, the drawer under the oven was originally designed for something completely different.
Purpose of the box
It turns out that this compartment is designed to maintain the high temperature of a freshly cooked dish.
After all, cooks often find themselves in this situation: baked goods have already been removed from the oven, but the creation of other dishes continues.
Of course, you can leave the pie, pizza, casserole, pies or French meat on the table. But the dish will quickly cool down.
Or you can place a frying pan or baking dish in a cabinet. As a result, the food will stay warm for a long time.
Can you store dishes here?
And yet, is it possible to use the lower section of the kitchen stove in the way that many housewives are accustomed to?
In principle, you can keep frying pans here, as well as metal and ceramic items. In general, those dishes that can withstand high temperatures.
But you can't put glass plates and things made of other fragile materials in the drawer. When cooking food in the oven, such items can crack or even burst.
