A simple folk invention allows you to extend the shelf life of fresh strawberries, which do not last long even in the refrigerator.

Everyone knows that this berry can spoil in just one day, even in the refrigerator. To extend the shelf life, you will need a simple homemade solution.

How to proceed

You will need a wide and deep bowl into which you need to collect 0.5 liters of clean cold water.

Then you need to add 100 milliliters of table vinegar and stir.

Next, the strawberries are placed in a container with a vinegar solution so that they are completely covered with water.

The strawberries are kept in this way for several minutes, which kills pathogenic microorganisms on the surface of the berries, which cause all fruit and vegetable products to rot and become moldy.

After soaking the berries in the vinegar solution, transfer them to a paper towel. The better you dry them, the longer the strawberries will last in the refrigerator.

How to store

The ideal container for storing strawberries are called containers and boxes. They are first covered with a paper towel, and the berries are stacked in no more than two layers.

Important! You can't count on long-term storage if the berries are left without a stalk. It is the green tail that largely prevents the onset of rotting.

You need to check your supplies periodically, because one berry will cause the neighboring ones to rot.
