The superstition arose in the Middle Ages. It was believed that through money a person transmits diseases and negative energy.
At that time, the plague and other serious illnesses were rampant, so people were sure that they could get sick along with money.
That's why there were special bags and boxes in which debts or earned gold were paid.
How to do it right
According to the signs, debts are repaid only during the daytime and preferably before lunch. Banknotes are placed on a table, nightstand or other surface.
Money should be returned only with the right hand. According to legend, if you use the left hand, it can attract poverty and a reason to borrow money again.
