A coffee grinder, although this contradicts its name, is used not only for grinding coffee beans, but also for other purposes.
Very often, all sorts of spices end up in the bowl of the device – for example, peppercorns, cayenne pepper, mustard seeds, vanilla and others.
As you know, they have a strong aroma that cannot be removed by simply rinsing the coffee grinder bowl under water.
If after such a procedure the machine is used again to grind coffee, the beans will certainly become saturated with this foreign smell.
You are unlikely to want to drink such a drink or treat your guests to it.
To prevent this from happening, you should stock up on the most ordinary rice cereal.
Fill the coffee grinder bowl with a handful of rice (raw, of course) and grind it – after such a simple operation, even the most sensitive nose will not detect any foreign aroma.
Important: this method is only suitable for coffee grinders. If you need to "refresh" a blender, you will have to find something else: since the knives in such a device are at a slightly higher level, small grains will only get clogged between the knives.
